Air France-Klm: red 2012 at 1,19 billion

Deep red for the accounts of Air France-Klm. The French-Dutch airline – which owns 25% of Alitalia – closed 2012 with a net loss of 1,19 billion euros (against 809 million in 2011), also due to a provision from 471 million euros for the restructuring plan in progress.

The total turnover of the group rose to 25,63 billion (+5,2% on an annual basis), with passenger traffic growing by 2,1%, but the costs they increased above all for fuel (+890 million euros, mainly due to the appreciation of the dollar).

Meanwhile, today the Alitalia shareholders' meeting will approve the 150 million loan proposed by the board of directors to rebalance the accounts. Air France, the first shareholder of the Italian company, has already made it known that it has "agreed to join like the other shareholders": its stake will be 37,5 million

Alitalia's 2012 numbers will be discussed on Monday's Board of Directors, but it is not excluded that the Ragnetti case will also be addressed. In fact, the rumors about the possible farewell of the managing director are growing. Perhaps for this very reason the Alitalia Day 2013 company convention, initially scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed.
