Agcom: the decree on the arrears of Poste Italiane is ready

The situation of the Poste Italiane arrears it seems to be getting closer and closer to unlocking. According to reports from Cor.Com, the decree of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Economy is now on its way to completion, which will regulate the payment of arrears owed by the Post Office to Agcom since 2012, i.e. since when the company which deals with the postal service is considered in the same way as other operators.

Furthermore, the decree will establish the amount of the arrears: we are talking about a figure around 11 million euro, while the annual fee to be paid as a contribution should be between 4 and 5 million. So confirm the estimates by the Authority, whose president Angelo Marcello Cardani (on the occasion of the Agcom annual report) had spoken of a treasure quantifiable at around 6 million for the two-year period 2012-2013, to which 6 million must be added for 2014.

Until 2026, the universal postal service in Italy is entrusted to Poste Italiane, which transmits the cost of the universal postal service to the Authority every year. The cost of providing the universal service is financed by the state budget and by a specific compensation fund, to which the postal operators contribute.
