Day of chaos in the Italian skies. A series of strikes are expected on Tuesday 14 January which will affect some airlines, Enav, the company that manages civil air traffic in Italy and a series of airport facilities throughout Italy.

"The national strikes of 14 January which will affect numerous air transport companies and carriers (including Air Italy and EasyJet, ed.) as well as ENAV, are all confirmed", declared Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Ugl TA, at the end of the meeting convened by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, explaining that "the sector has been going through very serious crises and system inefficiencies for some time due to the lack of necessary initiatives by this and the previous Government, which we are repeatedly asking for".

STRIKES JANUARY 14: WHO STOPS? ALL TIMES

In addition to Air Italy and EasyJet, Enav announced that a national strike called by Unica, FILT-CGIL, FIT-CISL, Uiltrasporti, UGL-TA/Assivolo Quadri is scheduled for 14 January from 13 to 17 pm.

In the same time slot (13.00 – 17.00) further strikes are also planned

following plants:

– Rome Area Control Centre: organized by FILT-CGIL;

– Rome Area Control Centre: organized by FIT-CISL, Uiltrasporti, UGL-TA and UNICA;

– Brindisi Area Control Centre: organized by FILT-CGIL, FIT-CISL and UNICA;

– Brindisi Area Control Centre: organized by Uiltrasporti and UGL-TA;

– Alghero airport: organized by FIT-CISL and Uiltrasporti;

– Bari airport: open to FILT-CGIL, FIT-CISL and UNICA;

– Bergamo Airport: organized by UGL-TA;

– Bologna Airport: organized by FIT-CISL, UGL-TA and UNICA;

– Catania Airport: organized by FIT-CISL, UGL-TA and UNICA;

– Ciampino Airport: organized by FIT-CISL, Uiltrasporti, UGL-TA and UNICA;

– Lamezia Terme Airport: organized by FIT-CISL, UGL-TA, UNICA;

– Ronchi dei Legionari Airport: organized by FIT-CISL, Uiltrasporti and UNICA;

– Venice Airport: organized by FIT-CISL, UGL-TA and UNICA;

– Verona Airport: organized by UNICA.

On the other hand, the following facilities will go on strike for 24 hours:

  • Ancona airport: organized by Ugl-ta and Unica;
  • Perugia airport: organized by Ugl-ta;
  • Pescara airport: organized by Ugl-ta.
