Adr, Lo Presti: Fiumicino did well in 2013, + 3,6% intercontinental traffic

“The first months of the year, or rather the first 70 days, show us significant data which confirm Rome as an important airport. From the beginning of the year to yesterday evening, intercontinental traffic recorded a growth of 3,6%. Europe remains in line, while the domestic market is still suffering”. These are the first numbers on the progress of the airport Fiumicino. These are provided by the managing director of Rome airports, Lorenzo Lo Presti, on the occasion of the signing of a protocol with Rome for the development of new air traffic and new tourist flows.

Lo Presti recalled how "the Roman airport system welcomed 2012 million passengers in 41 and Fiumicino is among the top six airports with passenger traffic that increased from 10 to 25 million in 37 years, with an average annual increase of 4% ”.

Furthermore, Lo Presti underlined that "despite the weakness of the main Italian carrier, there has been strong growth driven by international flights, above all from countries such as China, Russia and South America".
