John Azzone he is the new president of Acri. Azzone, president of the Cariplo Foundation, was elected by acclamation by the assembly of the Association of Foundations and Casse di Risparmio Spa for the completion of the three-year mandate 2022-2024. It happens at Francesco Profumo, who resigned from the presidency of the Compagnia di San Paolo.
Azzone: “I receive a precious and demanding inheritance”
“I thank all the representatives of the banking foundations and savings banks for choosing me as president of this prestigious Association of ours – declared the new president of Acri Giovanni Azzone -. I address a thought of gratitude and esteem to those who preceded me, Giuseppe Guzzetti and Francesco Profumo, who have led Acre for the last twenty years; I receive from them a precious and demanding legacy, which encourages me to continue in the name of the values of cohesion and pluralism that have always inspired our community. I intend to interpret this mandate of mine in the spirit of maximum collegiality. For this reason, taking advantage of a positive listening phase that I have had in recent months with the territorial associations of foundations, I will immediately actively involve the territorial councils and the Acri bodies to implement together the initiatives that we have considered priorities".
"The foundations of banking origin have a great responsibility towards the communities of their territories and the entire country, and, to continue to fulfill their mission, it is necessary that they do so in an increasingly coordinated and shared manner"", he concluded Azzone.
