Just two and a half months into the Serie A championship and while many season ticket holders continue to complain of severe inefficiencies while watching the matches (the last in order of time those recorded during the Inter-Milan derby), Dazn decides to change the cards on the table and eliminate the possibility of using two devices at the same time on a single Dazn account.
The news, not yet official, was revealed by Sun 24 Hours, according to which the announcement should arrive in the next few days. When asked by the newspaper, the company preferred not to comment.
DAZN: THE NEW RULES
In technical jargon, the simultaneous viewing on two devices of a game with a single subscription is defined competition. According to rumors, Dazn intends to eliminate this possibility despite the fact that it is provided for in the service contract and had been widely highlighted in the presentation of the offer: "Furthermore, with a single subscription, Dazn practically doubles: you will be able to watch two contents — the same or different — at the same time and on two different devices”, read the claim.
However, the time for the "doubling" seems to have ended quickly. It will be possible to watch the match simultaneously on two different devices only on condition that they are connected to the same landline. If, on the other hand, you find yourself in two different houses or cities, this possibility will disappear. Let's take a practical example: a father and a son/daughter, fans of the same team, want to watch the game of their favorite team. The first is comfortably seated on the sofa in the living room in front of the smart TV, the second is in his room in front of the computer. In this case there will be no problem: with just one subscription both will have the opportunity to watch the match. But if the son or daughter is an off-site student and is in another city to study, the family will need two different season tickets (doubling the costs, of course) to enjoy the same game remotely.
THE RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
The new conditions of use should enter into force in mid-December, while the communication to subscribers from Dazn should arrive in the next few days so that the latter have the opportunity to exercise the right of withdrawal within 30 days, considering that the use of the double device was foreseen in point 8.3 of the conditions of use.
THE OBJECTIVES
Dazn's new company policy would pursue two purposes: on the one hand, the intention is to target the fraudulent use of access to the platform, inflicting a new blow to piracy. On the other hand there is the will to give a further push for subscriptions “given that from the data circulating within Dazn there would have been an average 20% of fraudulent uses of this “double contemporary user”, explains Il Sole 24 Ore.

As per tradition, there are many i messages of protest and anger which are pouring into social networks, especially Twitter. The end of concurrency represents a cold shower for many users who promise to cancel the subscription, not being willing to pay double (from 29,99 to 59,98 euros per month) to watch the game on two different devices. Today's protests add to those that have been going on for months and related to accounts that constantly freeze during matches, poor video quality and deferred viewing. inefficiency and malfunctions which, two and a half months after the start of the championship for many users still would not have resolved.
