“Spinning the Wheel”, the 2013 Pirelli balance which involved 10 international talents from various disciplines in the 'reinvention' of the wheel, won two prestigious awards in the fields of design and graphics. Indeed, Pirelli's Annual Report won the Gold Trophy Award, one of the top international awards at the International Design Awards (IDA), and the third prize in the Annual Report category just awarded in Istanbul by the European Design Awards. Graphically developed together with the Cacao Design communication agency, the 2013 financial statements were selected from thousands of works from all over the world and the awards assigned confirm Pirelli's excellence in the design and communication panorama.

For the 2012 financial statements, in fact, Pirelli had already been awarded the Certificate of typographical excellence award for innovative typographic solutions. In particular, in the case of the International Design Awards, whose jury boasts the names of the most influential designers on the world scene, the assignment of the Gold Trophy Award to the 2013 Pirelli financial statements took place with a selection from over 1.000 entered projects, coming from 52 Countries, and rewarded their sophisticated, creative, functional and innovative design. The jury of the European Design Award – made up of the editors of the most renowned European design magazines – instead assigned the bronze medal to the 2013 Pirelli financial statements in the Annual Report category, selecting it from among hundreds of projects from 21 countries entered in the competition. The two awards recognize Pirelli's ability to innovate, which has always characterized not only its products, but also its methods of communication.

The 2013 budget developed with Cocoa Design combines accurate graphics with a touch of originality, presenting itself vertically with an inclination of 45 degrees, resting on its lower right corner, with a balance made possible thanks to the die-cutting of the 3 volumes and their container. The recently published Annual Report 2014 of Pirelli was also created and developed thanks to the collaboration with Cacao Design. In this case, the story of tires through art has been entrusted to three internationally renowned young Street Artists: the images of the works they have created find space in a balance sheet that this year sees a single volume incorporating the three dimensions of the company (Financial Report, Governance Report and Sustainability Report), as well as the Pirelli company profile and summary data for last year.
