In the Pd Letta wins, Cancellieri saves

In the Pd Letta wins, Cancellieri saves

The majority archives the Cancellieri-Ligresti case without tearing. Yesterday the Minister of Justice he reported before the Chambers to defend himself from the accusation of having abused his power by urging the release of Giulia Ligresti, daughter of the patron Salvatore. And, apparently, the Minister of Justice has convinced everyone. Almost.

“We listened to the minister – said Guglielmo Epifani, Pd secretary -. According to the presentation of the facts and the documents, we have confirmed the trust: there have been no interventions beyond his responsibility. We did not hide, both in Zanda's and Speranza's speeches, that that telephone passage had problems and the minister himself acknowledged that the sentences could be misunderstood. We have taken a serious position."

That of the Democratic Party was the most problematic position, because within the party some voices (from Renzians to Pippo Civati) argued that the minister should have resigned. But more than the currents, in the end, the full support guaranteed to the minister by Prime Minister Enrico Letta weighed.

Far more compact (and right from the start) is the guaranteeing position of the PDL, which has repeatedly suggested a parallelism - moreover explicitly rejected by Cancellieri - between the phone call from the Minister of Justice in favor of Giulia Ligresti and the one made at the time by Silvio Berlusconi for ruby. The title of Libero on newsstands this morning is significant: "She does not fall, he falls".

The minister also receives the trust of Civic Choice, while the main opposition parties still line up against her: Movimento 5 Stelle, SEL and Lega. The two no-confidence motions presented by the grillini continue their process and will be voted on as soon as Cancellieri returns to Rome from Milan, where he is today undergoing an operation on his arm.
