Maire Tecnimont closes contracts for two fertilizer plants in Russia

Maire Tecnimont Spa, through its subsidiary Tecnimont Spa, has signed agreements relating to the development of engineering activities for two fertilizer plants located in Russia, as well as an agreement for the direct negotiation of the Epc contract for one of the two plants.

Both plants are owned by EuroChem Mineral and Chemical Company, a leading international agrochemical company, which produces nitrogen and phosphate-based fertilizers, as well as synthetic organic products and iron ore, with operations ranging from mining and quarrying natural gas, up to the production of fertilizers, logistics and distribution.

The first complex, located in the Kingisepp industrial zone, in the St. Petersburg region, includes an ammonia plant with a production capacity of 2.700 tons per day, based on Kbr technology, as well as utilities and supporting off-site facilities.

Furthermore, Tecnimont was also awarded by EuroChem the qualification of 'preferred bidder' for the direct negotiation of the EPC contract relating to the Kingisepp plant, the main terms and conditions of which have already been agreed between the parties.

The second complex, located in the Nevinnomyssk industrial zone, Stavropol region, includes an ammonia plant with a capacity of 2.700 tons per day, based on Kbr technology, a granular urea plant with a capacity of 3.500 tons per day , based on Stamicarbon technology, the Maire Tecnimont center specialized in Licensing and IP, in addition to the utilities and off-site support facilities.

The total value of the engineering activities will be approximately 30 million. The projects will be carried out by Tecnimont in association with Chemoproject Nitrogen, a company from the Czech Republic, which will act as subcontractor.

The agreements represent a further success in the context of the Group's long presence in Russia, which began with the construction in Gorlovka in 1933 of the ammonia plant by Montecatini, at the origins of the history of the Maire Tecnimont Group.
