Today Bank of Italy revised downwards the estimates of Italian GDP for 2013 bringing them to a level closer to that of economists' expectations, from -0,2% to -1%. On the government bond market, the Bund Btp spread narrows to 255 basis points (-3 points).

London closes up 0,5% e Paris of 0,2%, Frankfurt loses 0,2%.

The euro it corrects against the dollar to 1,3307 from 1,337 at yesterday's close. In the morning, the single currency reached its highest level since May 2011 against the franc and the yen. Lowest since March 2012 for the pound against the euro.

Wall Street it is down slightly after the release of an indicator on consumer confidence: the Dow Jones index and S&P500 are down by 0,1% while the Nasdaq loses 0,44%.

The consumer confidence index compiled by theUniversity of Michigan in collaboration with Thomson Reuters fell in January to 71,3 from 72,9 in December, economists had expected an increase to 75 points.

The cover title in Piazza Affari remains Mediaset + 5,57%: Berenberg brought the target price to 2,6 euros and confirmed the Buy recommendation. The race to close the bearish positions has started. Remaining in the Berlusconi galaxy, Mondadori rises by 7%.

Telecom Italy instead it is up by 0,86%. The group has decided to go ahead with the sale of Telecom Italia Media even if the offers are much lower than what is expressed by the stock market price. The stock of the average company climbs 2%.

After the Bofa report Merrill Lynch new historical record of Tod’s at 105 euros, now +0,7% at 102,80 euros. Ansaldo StS climbs, up 2%, Goldman Sachs raised its recommendation to neutral from sell. Buzzi climbs 4,3% after Exane's promotion to outperform from underperform. The same broker cut Italcementi to underperform from neutral, the stock loses 0,2%.

Banks still on the rise: Unicredit +1,84% and Intesa +1,1%. Banco Popolare -0,2% and Ubi Banca -0,4% decreased. Mediobanca -0,83%.

Generali he canceled the gains and loses 0,5%. Mario Greco confirmed the negotiations for the assets put up for sale by the company, BSI and the US subsidiary active in reinsurance.

Fondiaria Sai gains 4% (after +11% yesterday), Unipol +3%. Stocks move to their highest since July.

The rejection of ubs weighs on Enel -2,68%.

Fiat +1,02% The manufacturer has signed an agreement with Mazda to produce a new car under the Alfa Romeo brand.
