The live sale of Christie's at Rockefeller Center, in the heart of Manhattan, with lively offers over the phone, in the room and online.

The sale reached a total of $44,4 million, with 90% of the 144 lots sold. The auction featured an incredible variety of rare diamonds, remarkable colored stones and an extraordinary assemblage of jewels from leading houses such as Bulgari, Cartier, Tiffany & Co. and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Top Lot a pink diamond of extraordinary beauty

Pink diamond ring


The most important lot of the sale was The Eden Rose, a 10,20-carat round brilliant fancy intense pink diamond, sold for $13,3 million, exceeding its high estimate. The auction saw a strong Participation, with offers from all over the world, of which the 51% from the Americas, 24% from Europe and 26% from Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Collectors actively participated in all phases of the sale, paying high prices especially for the rare colored gemstones and natural pearls.



Excellent results were achieved during the sale of colored diamonds and colored stones, including a significant colored diamond and diamond pendant necklace sold for $2.167.500, a fancy vivid blue heart modified brilliant cut diamond of 2,28 carats which reached $2.107.000.

A return to the natural pearl

Exceptional results have been observed when selling natural pearls, with numerous lots exceeding their high estimates, including a natural pearl, cultured pearl and diamond necklace reaching $378.000, five times its high estimate of $50.000, and a pair of natural pearl and diamond earrings selling for 277.200 dollars, almost ten times the high estimate of $30.000.

Further notable results were achieved for lots from illustrious collections, including Beauty in Design: Magnificent Jewelry from the Collection of Sunny Crawford von Bulow and Ala von Auersperg Isham. An exquisite necklace of emeralds, rubies and carved diamonds by Van Cleef & Arpels sold for $289.800, and an Art Deco necklace of natural pearls, cultured pearls and diamonds reached $302.400 against a low estimate of $100.000. The 16 jewels in the collection amount to 1.400.000 dollars.
