The European Central Bank has no intention of raising the ELA ceiling for the moment Greece. This was reported by some sources close to the discussion that is taking place in Frankfurt at the moment, according to which the Governing Council of the European central institute would aim to keep the emergency fund at the current 88,6 billion, despite Greece's request for an increase of 1,5 billion euros. This was reported by the American agency Bloomberg.
An increase in the intended aid in Athens it would also be useful to allow Greek banks to reopen, but, despite the fact that the Greek Parliament has approved the reforms requested by creditors in exchange for the third bailout package, the European Central Bank does not seem willing to raise the ELA ceiling, above all because at the at the moment the ratifications of the agreement by the parliaments of the various European countries are still missing.
In any case, the decisions of the Governing Council will be communicated during the cPress conference by Mario Draghi to be held this afternoon.
