Europol, the European Union's law enforcement agency which helps EU member countries fight serious forms of international crime and terrorism, has once again released the list of the continent's 50 most wanted fugitives, launching an appeal to EU citizens engaged in the Christmas holidays: "Help us catch the most dangerous criminals around".
The European Police, in the press release issued in view of Christmas, asks everyone to make an effort to make "the holiday season safer, by locking up these criminals before the holidays".
The list includes names of dangerous criminals, among which are assassins, terrorists and drug traffickers, characters who have convictions for crimes as serious as they are heinous and who continue to be sought after throughout the continent.
Since the beginning of 2016, when the list was first put online, 19 fugitives have been arrested, 8 of whom have been brought to justice thanks to reports received by citizens on the site.
Among the Italians on the list are the inevitable Matteo Messina Denaro, the former boss of the 'Ndrangheta Sandro Vottari and the Palermo boss Giovanni Motisi.
