Enel GP: profit +52,6% and revenues +20,9% in the first quarter

The increase in revenues of Enel Green Power is due to the increase in electricity sales – Ebitda increased by 26,1%, Ebit grew by 39,1% – Investments decreased by 14 million euros compared to the same period of 2012

Enel GP: profit +52,6% and revenues +20,9% in the first quarter

Enel Green Power closes the first quarter with a net result of 148 million euros, with an increase of 51 million euros (+52,6%) compared to the same period of 2012 (97 million euros). Revenues amounted to 724 million euros, with an increase of 125 million euros compared to the first quarter of 2012 (+20,9%): this increase derives from the increase of 141 million euros in revenues from the sale of electricity and the reduction of 16 million euros in other revenues.

Ebitda, amounting to 478 million euros, recorded an increase of 26,1% compared to the first quarter of 2012. Ebit amounted to 320 million euros, an increase of 90 million euros (+39,1 %) compared to the 230 million euro of the corresponding period of the previous year. Investments made in the first three months of 2013 amounted to 261 million euros, down by 14 million euros compared to the same period of 2012.

Francesco Starace, CEO of Enel Green Power, said that "the results achieved in the first quarter confirm the good execution of the diversification strategy in technological and geographical development". "The positive economic performance of the period - he continued - was driven by a strong availability of water and wind resources, by a good technical availability of the plants and by the increase in installed capacity".

Enel Green Power shares rose slightly in the afternoon.
