Messina again grappling with water problems. Yet another break in the water pipeline. The water will return tomorrow, but it will be sipped – The Government sends the Civil Protection.

It seemed that the situation had resolved itself and instead in the last few hours Messina faces a new water emergency. Other problems with the water pipeline that serves the Municipality, still in the Calatabiano area, where there was a leak of water from the drainage system, causing the land to sink.

Still inconvenience for the city of the Straits which until tomorrow morning will be without water. The water supply has been suspended and work is underway on the activation of the bypass which in Forza d'Agrò will connect the Fiumefreddo aqueduct with that of the Alcantara, the flow rate of which, however, will only be able to cover a third of the city's needs (300- 400 liters per second compared to the 970 of Fiumefreddo). Therefore, very strong inconveniences are also expected in the coming days. 

To deal with the emergency the Government has decided to send the Civil Protection. The news was disclosed through a note in which we read that "in the light of the occurrence of new critical issues in the water supply in Messina and the persistence of serious inconveniences for the citizens, the Prime Minister has ordered the immediate sending site of men from the National Civil Protection, coordinated on the spot by the Head of the structure, engineer Fabrizio Curcio». The arrival in Messina of the head of the Regional Civil Protection Calogero Foti is expected, as well as the head of the national civil protection Fabrizio Curcio and the president of the Region Rosario Crocetta.
