Electricity and gas, how to choose the cheapest bill? Help comes from Arera, the Energy Authority, which calls on Alessandro Volta, the great Italian inventor who was the first to invent the battery in the 700th century and build the first electric generator. Just Volta, in strictly eighteenth-century clothes, appears in the video dedicated to "Offer Portal" of Arera, public comparison portal, complete with every offer of electricity, gas and dual fuel, which helps families and small businesses to find the energy offer that best suits your needs. It is the first step of a campaign aimed at increasing consumer awareness in view of the overcoming the 'protected market' of electricity and gas, provided for by the law of 1 ° July 2020.
LIGHT AND GAS, AN AVALANG OF OFFERS
Sellers of electricity and gas, from 1 March 2018 they began to offer their customers many new offers on the free market. Among these, the are also mandatory Placet offers (free price but with the same conditions as the market protected by the Authority), at price fixed or variable. The Placet offers do not provide for the joint supply of electricity and natural gas: the customer can in fact subscribe two separate contracts with the same seller.
LIGHT AND GAS, THE PUBLIC METER
To unravel the jumble of offers, the consumer can investigate the one that seems most suitable for his needs, again by consulting the public comparison portal, where, in addition to the Placet offers, he will find a counter: by entering a few simple data (postal code, consumption obtainable from the bills) all the offers of the market in that area will appear, in descending order based on the price offered.
Placet offers have a duration indeterminate with economic conditions that yes renew every 12 months. Within three months after expiry of these conditions, the seller must inform the customer about the new conditions that he will apply starting from thirteenth month; the customer is however free to accept them or not, being always valid the right of the customer to withdraw from the contract. In the absence of a choice on the part of the customer, the Placet offer that is about to expire will come renewed for another year.
As for the prices, every seller has to offer two types of offers Placet: one at a fixed price and the other at a variable price. In both cases, the energy price will be divided into a quota fixed express in €/customer/year and a share expressed energy in €/Kilowatt hour or €/Standard cubic metre.
The price is differentiated by bands in the presence of a remote managed counter (F1 and F23 for domestic customers and F1, F2 and F3 for non-domestic customers). For domestic and non-domestic customers who do not have a remotely managed meter, the price is the same same at all times.
In summary in the Placet offers:
- le economic conditions (price) are freely decided by the seller and renewed every 12 months
- la price structure it is established by the Authority and mandatory
- le contractual conditions (guarantees, installments) are established by the Authority and mandatory
