The Senate Finance Committee this morning approved the delegation to the Government to review the Italian tax system. The mandate for the speakers to report to the Chamber was unanimously voted. Once the green light has been obtained from the assembly in Palazzo Madama, the text will return to the Chamber for what should be final approval. At that point, being a proxy bill, the Executive will have to see to approving the delegated decrees.
Among the measures that the provision delegates to the Executive are the reform of the cadastre, the reorganization (ie the selective cut) of tax deductions and the introduction of new tools to combat tax evasion. The senators, to allow for a rapid process, introduced few amendments. One of these introduces a fund on the fight against gambling addiction, another contains regulations on horse racing.

It seems to me that there is a shared action on the part of the Commission, the Presidency and all the groups and also on the part of the Government. The mandate to the rapporteurs was unanimously given and this is good news: now let's see what we can do as soon as possible in the Chamber, to then quickly get to the Chamber and then move on to the delegated decrees, establishing a moment of discussion with the two Finance commissions even during the preparation of the decrees".
