As part of the third edition of the HeraSolidale project, through which Hera workers, the company itself and customers support associations engaged in solidarity programmes, around 370 thousand euros were collected and donated. Alongside this sum, the Coronavirus emergency in recent months has put the health system to the test and for this reason an extraordinary edition of HeraSolidale was launched among the employees of the Emilia-based multiutility which raised almost 64 thousand euros in favor of the Health Services of Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Marche, subdivided on the basis of the choice expressed by the workers in the joining phase. To remember too the recent project launched with Caritas Italiana to provide the equivalent of 25 meals to those in need through a donation for each multi-utility customer who activates electronic billing.
HeraSolidale is a project through which Hera they support associations engaged in solidarity programmes, with monthly donations from your paycheck or through the Hextra company welfare system. At the same time, Hera undertakes to allocate 1 euro to the project for each new customer acquired by Hera Comm. Hera Comm's new electricity and gas customers can also participate in HeraSolidale by choosing to allocate 1 euro when subscribing to a free offer market to one of the associations involved. The associations are selected by the employees among the 15 identified by the Group on the basis of certain criteria, including the notoriety and transparency of the activities and their contribution to one or more sustainability and development objectives defined in the UN Agenda for 2030 (health and , clean water and sanitation, gender equality, quality education).
Overall, in the two-year period 2018/2019 with HeraSolidale they were raised about 370 thousand euros, distributed among five associations based on the preferences expressed by employees and customers, thus allowing the realization of different projects with a positive effect on thousands of people. The five non-profit organizations involved are Ant, Aism - Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association, Butterfly Onlus, DiRe - Women on the Network Against Violence and Save the Children.
