Consip approves 2021 budget: profit over 3 million, PA purchases +12%

Profit increased by 309% in 5 years. During the year tenders for a total value of 10,6 billion were announced, savings are stable at 3,2 billion euro

The Consip shareholders' meeting – 100% owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance – approved the budget 2021 which ended with all economic indicators growing. The purchases of the PA on Consip instruments increased by 12% compared to 2020 and by 127% compared to 2016, equal to 18,6 billion, with an opportunity to reoverall savings on prices of 3,2 billion euros (+10% against 2016/stable compared to 2020).

They have been over the course of the year banned races for a total of 10,6 billion euros (+111% against 2016 / +56% compared to 2020) for 243 lots of tender awarded (+17% against 2016 / +10% compared to 2020). The tenders awarded amount to 10 billion euros (+6% against 95 / stable compared to 2016) for 2020 tender lots awarded (+329% compared to 103 / +2016% against 23)

Furthermore, in 2021 Consip generated an increase in the value of production of 78,9 million euros (+2%). EBITDA also grew to 11,3 million euros (+21% compared to 2020). Cash and cash equivalents also increased, reaching 39,8 million euros (+41%, 2020).

  • Rationalization program: the indicators on purchasing instruments have grown contracts on conventions and framework agreements record purchases by the Public Administration for 5,5 billion (+20% against 2020) - and on trading instruments - the Mepa records purchases by the Public Administration for 6,4, 16 billion euros (+2020% against 2022) and at the beginning of XNUMX the offer on public works was also extended to new works.
  • Digitization of the Public Administration: the development of the initiatives in the Cloud, IT security and digital health areas continued with the publication of six new tenders and the awarding of the Digital Transformation, Public Cloud IaaS and PaaS initiatives, Application services from a cloud perspective, generating purchases of the Public Administrations on contracts available for 1,4 billion euros (+27% against 2020). To date, contracts worth over €3 billion are available.
  • Initiatives in support of the Pnrr: the "Recovery procurement platform" reform was launched through the first 8 tenders - for an announced value of over 2,4 billion euros - to provide the Public Administrations with the contracts necessary for the implementation of projects financed by the Pnrr (security, cloud, digital health, etc). To date, 16 initiatives are underway for a banned value of almost 8 billion euros.
