Next 5 and 6 April the auction of Modern and Contemporary Art will be held at Christie's (Milan), with all Italian works. Eighty-seven works in the catalog by artists such as: Boetti, Bonalumi, Fontana, Burri, Melotti, Pomodoro, Severini, Calzolari, Capogrossi, Dadamaino, de Chirico, Manzoni, Castellani, Simeti, Scheggi, Tancredi, etc.
An auction that confirms the market, where demand is always linked to the modern and contemporary of authors also present in the London square, where Italian works "transit" for worldwide collectors. An interesting auction is therefore expected, where there will certainly be Italian buyers and foreign dealers who will win the works and then relocate them elsewhere. We just have to wait for the result of the auction to have a confirmation.
Top lot the work “Maps” by Alighiero Boetti, embroidery technique (cm 113×74) performed in 1983 and registered in the Alighiero Boetti Archive, Rome, n. 8039, as per photo authentication dated 14 July 2015.
