The concept of Mediterranea XVII, No Food's Land. The world after the EXPO is based on the awareness of how much the nourishment process involves an exchange: something is assimilated and consumed to supply, in turn, energy to another subject. Even the imaginary works in this way: it must be fed and cared for, cultivated, cleaned of what is no longer needed. Through his work, the artist nourishes the imagination making it excite, reflect, consider, feel, leaving seeds that will germinate over time, forming the ground on which future generations will intervene.
For several years now we have been talking about nutrition in terms of health: it is appropriate to do it also in an inner sense, inviting reflection on how the deepest and most invisible parts are nourished, on how one lives at the mercy of habits not only in a practical sense but also mental and emotional. The languages of art are extremely effective in this direction, because they are always exchanges between humans, and they often aim to bring together those who are internally alive and feel the need for this exchange.
This Biennale is a splendid opportunity to show innovative works, developed in the direction of an overall awareness of one's artistic work, understood as a process that develops before and after the work or performative act.
