Good news for Italian banks: in August net suffering they fell to 16,6 billion euros, the lowest since March 2009. The figure was 17,8 billion in July this year, 24,5 billion in August 2020 and 32,3 billion in August 2019. Compared to maximum level reached in November 2015 (88,8 billion), the reduction is 72,2 billion, equal to 81,3%. The ABI writes it in its monthly report, adding that in September the average mortgage rate is equal to Present in several = 1,39%, down from 1,47% in August.

The analysis also shows that i loans to businesses and households they went up by Present in several = 2,2% in September 2021 compared to a year ago. In August, for loans to businesses there was an increase of 1,2% on an annual basis, whereas for households the increase was 3,7%. 

Italians are confirmed as great savers, but also not very enterprising investors, preferring to leave their liquidity in the current account rather than making investment decisions. In September 2021, the dynamics of total deposits (deposits from resident customers and bonds) increased by 5,4% on an annual basis. In the same month, i deposits have increased by over 117 billion compared to a year earlier (+7,0% on an annual basis), while medium and long-term deposits (through bonds) decreased, in the last year, by approximately 15 billion euro in absolute value (equal to -6,5 .XNUMX%).

In detail, in September 2021 interest rates on financing transactions remained at particularly low levels, at historic lows. According to the ABI report, the average rate on total loans is equal to Present in several = 2,19% like the previous two months, however the average rate on new business financing transactions increased compared to the previous month (1,19% against 1,07%). At the end of 2007 the rates were respectively equal to 6,18% and 5,72%.

Also in September, the average interest rate on total bank deposits from customers it is in Italy 0,45%, due to: the rate charged on deposits (current accounts, savings deposits and certificates of deposit), 0,31% (same value in the previous month); the rate on PCTs, which stands at 1,26% (1,38% the previous month); as well as the yield on outstanding bonds, 1,80% (1,79% in the previous month).
