Astaldi, new order worth 60 million in Romania

Astaldi, new order worth 60 million in Romania

A new contract arrives from Romania for the general contractor Astaldi. The project is worth 119 million euros and will be carried out in partnership with the German Max Bögl. The Italian group will build the Cernavoda–Medgidia, a 21-kilometre stretch of the new Bucharest-Constanta highway. The contract also provides for the design and execution of all related works. The start of the works is expected within the year.

The initiative, with a duration of the works for 15 months, three of which for planning, is commissioned by the Romanian National Highways and National Roads Company and will be financed by the Cohesion Funds (85%) and by the Romanian Government (15%). The Roman company has been present in the country for over 20 years, where it has carried out various projects, including the modernization of the "Henri Coanda" International Airport in Bucharest, the construction of over 80 kilometers of motorway and the Basarab overpass in Bucharest .

At the moment Astaldi is also involved in other projects in Romania, such as the internal section of the Pan-European IV railway corridor, road and motorway sections, Line 5 of the underground and the "Lia Manoliu" National Stadium in Bucharest. On the Stock Exchange, the company's stock remains under pressure, albeit slightly reducing the drop. In the middle of the session it lost 4,77%, to 3,71 euros, slightly heavier than the Ftse Italia Mid Cap index which lost 4,22%.
