The Energy Authority turns twenty. In fact, it was December 4, 1996 when the first meeting of the Electricity and Gas Authority was held, the institution created to protect all consumers in the nascent electricity and gas markets, promoting competition, the quality of the services, their homogeneous usability throughout the territory, in conditions of economy, profitability and taking into account the general objectives of a social nature, environmental protection and efficient use of resources.
Over the years the association, chaired since 2011 by Guido Bortoni, was confronted with the strong evolution of the first regulatory sectors, which since 2012 have been joined by new skills in the integrated water system and district heating, in a panorama that has seen regulation increasingly relate to the European dimension, with the various Community Directives which have further legitimized its role and functions.
After twenty years of operation, the Authority, which has become AEEGSI - Authority for electricity, gas and the water system -, is renewed in continuity, adapting to changes in the System, with its structure that now combines the two macro areas of operation , energy and the environment. Twenty years celebrated with a special logo that will accompany the institutional one in all spaces, web and 'materials', and will accompany the various initiatives that will be structured to analyze the two decades of regulation, with an eye to the challenges of the coming years.
