Landini falls into the trap of Meloni as "Trump's courtesan" and misses the opportunity to press her on wages, taxes, growth

Instead of pressing the prime minister on wages, taxes, and anemic economic growth, the CGIL secretary slipped on a banana skin. What can one do to avoid talking about the issues that truly matter to people?

Landini falls into the trap of Meloni as "Trump's courtesan" and misses the opportunity to press her on wages, taxes, growth

An own goal bigger than that of the secretary of the CGIL, Maurizio Landini, which imprudently calls "Trump's courtesan" to Giorgia Meloni Opening the door to the victim mentality of which the prime minister is a master, it was hard to imagine. But Landini has accustomed us to gaffes and it's not the first time it's happened to him. It's a pitiful spectacle, but even more pitiful is that the leader of Italy's largest union talks about everything except harassing the prime minister and the Government on the ground of a trade union worthy of the name: the wages, le cups, the economic growthItalian wages, as everyone knows, are the lowest in Europe and deserve a pressing bargaining strategy to restore workers' purchasing power, but there's no sign of this. And what about the anemic economic growth despite Italy benefiting from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), which has delivered a 1,5% three-year GDP growth? Where will the Italian economy go when the NRRP funding runs out? And again: growth is low, but beyond the NRRP, it relies on the tax burden, which, as the new budget reveals, is still rising? Landini had a golden opportunity to press the prime minister on these issues, but he squandered it badly, throwing it away. Down with the tower.
