Coupons return to Piazza Affari, this time in an autumnal look. Monday September 22th two big names of the Ftse CMib distribute their dividend to the members. This is about Eni and stmicroelectronics which are paying the first and third installments of their dividends, respectively. But they're not alone. Joining the two blue chips are other companies listed on Mid-Cap, STAR and EGM.
Le September coupons, among other things, they are just an appetizer compared to the much more substantial dish that will arrive in the month of November. According to the calculations of The Economy of the Courier, there are 12 listed companies that have already planned the distribution of an autumn dividend while another ten are ready to announce it. In general, however, remember Mf-Milan Finance Citing FactSet as a source, dividend policy remains a distinctive aspect of Italian stocks which, in terms of dividend yield it boasts an absolute record: 4,88% in 2025 and 5,37% in 2026 for the Ftse Mib index.
Dividends September 22: Autumn dividends begin with Eni and Stm.
On the Ftse Mib, the autumn dividend season starts with Eni and Stmicroelectronics. On Monday, September 22, the oil giant will pay the first of four tranches of its 2026 dividend. Payment is scheduled for the 24th. The amount is equal to 26 cents per share, on a total dividend of 1,05 euros, in line with the resolution of the shareholders' meeting of 14 May 2025. At the stock market prices of Friday 19 September, the dividend yield of the first tranche is 1,74%, the overall rate exceeds 7%.
stm instead it detaches the second of its four tranches, the amount of which is 0,0762 euros per share, representing a yield of 0,32%. The total coupon is 0,36 euros. The other two tranches will be distributed on December 23, 2025, and March 23, 2026.
Other dividends on September 22nd
Let's start from the Mid Cap segment. The protagonists are Piaggio and De' Longhi. The first is paying an interim dividend of €0,04 per share, with a dividend yield of 1,94%. The company that produces coffee machines and kitchen appliances is also paying a second tranche for the 2024 financial year, amounting to €0,42 per share (a yield of 1,36%), part of a generous €1,25 coupon, an 87% increase compared to the previous financial year.
To close the dividend day there are then Sesa (Star segment), which distributes an ordinary coupon of 1 euro (yield 1%) and Polygraphic Printing which releases the second tranche for the 2024 financial year equal to 0,0075 euros (1,74%).
Fall Dividends: November's Banking Binge
But while the autumn equinox (which this year falls on September 22nd) already seems to be quite generous, investors will have to wait until mid-season to enjoy the most substantial offering. In November, in fact, the dividend ex-div is expected for some major financial stocks. All eyes are focused primarily on Unicredit which, after raising its 2025 guidance and reaching a market capitalization record of over €103 billion, is expected to announce an interim dividend at the end of October, to be distributed the following month. Announcements could also come from Intesa Sanpaolo e Bpm bank. Also enters the game Mediobanca, whose board of directors (resigned), on September 18, resolved to propose to the meeting the distribution of a gross dividend of 1,15 euros per share which, taking into account the advance paid in May (0,56 euros), corresponds to a balance of 0,59 euros per share, which will be paid on November 26.
Leaving the banking sector, but still remaining on the Ftse Mib, on November 24th the extraordinary dividend of 21,47 cents will also arrive. Inwit. Finally, in the same period, the coupons of Poste Italiane, Terna, Tenaris, Banca Mediolanum, Recordati and, outside the main price list, of Daniel.
