Unindustria Lazio has a new guide: Joseph Biazzo, founder and CEO of Orienta, was elected president with 99% of the votes in favour. It happens to Angelo Camilli and will lead the association of industrialists of Lazio for the four-year period 2024-2028. Biazzo arrives at the helm of the association with an ambitious program, focused on the needs of local businesses and on the great technological and sustainable challenges that await the region.
Unindustria Lazio: the new presidency team
Giuseppe Biazzo will be supported by a presidency team composed of important figures from the business and industrial world. Among the principal vice presidents appear Christian Dionisi, with responsibility for Supply Chains and Business Networks, and Corrado Savoriti, responsible for New Entrepreneurship and Start-ups. The team also includes high-profile vice presidents: Alda Paola Baldi (Enel) with responsibility for Human Capital, Lorenzo Benigni (Electronics) for CyberSecurity, Victoria Carli (Ised Engineering Data Processing Systems) for the Digital Transition, Stephen Cenci (Consilia Cfo) for the Organization and Association Relations, Antonio Liotti (Leonardo) for Labour and Industrial Relations, Paolo marini (Icaplants) for the Lazio Industrial Consortium, Elizabeth Romano (Fibercop) for Digital Networks, Alessandra Santa Croce (IBM Italy) for Multinationals, Marco Troncone (Rome Airports) for Sustainable and Innovative Infrastructures and John Turriziani (Turriziani Trasporti) with responsibility for Green Economy.
The electoral team is completed by the presidents of the territorial areas and district: Corrado Savoriti (Sama Marketing and Production) for Frosinone, Fausto Bianchi (Bianchi Insurance) for Latina, Alexander Mustard (Microdos) for Rieti, Andrea Belli (Beautiful) for Viterbo, Tiziana Vona (Self Garden) for Aprilia, Victor Celletti (Lear Corporation Italia) for Cassino e Fabio Pagliari (Cam Power) for Civitavecchia.
Biazzo then named as Special Guests, Sabrina Florio (So.Se.Pharm), Giampaolo Letta (Medusa Film) and Gian Rodolfo Bertoli (Siderfac), respectively presidents of Anima, of the Film Impresa Award and of the Health and Safety Award. The Treasurer Roberto H. Tentori (Grant Thornton Consultants) completes the board of directors, together with the general manager of Unindustria, Maximilian Ricci.
The 2024-2028 Programme: Business, Innovation and Sustainability
Il approved program from the Unindustria assembly, which will guide the association's activity until 2028, is broad and ambitious. At the heart of the strategies of Giuseppe Biazzo and his team is the desire to placing business at the centre of the political and public agenda, recognizing it as the main driver for economic growth and improving the quality of life. Support for businesses in Lazio will be essential, especially in the path of technological evolution, with a strong commitment to digitalization and the adoption of sustainable practices based on ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles.
Among program priority, an important role is played by the digital transition. The goal is to make Lazio an industrial center of excellence for advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and cybersecurity, helping local companies to integrate these innovations into their production processes. Another pillar is represented by green transition, with the aim of promoting sustainable strategies that guide companies towards a reduction of their environmental impact, making the region a point of reference for sustainable innovation.
A central aspect of Biazzo's mandate will be thelaunch of an industrial plan for Lazio, involving all territorial areas, stimulating growth and competitiveness, with particular attention to the development of physical and digital infrastructures. Finally, great attention will be given to industrial relations and human capital, with programs that aim to foster the professional growth of employees. In this context, a decisive role will be played by ITS and the Rome Technopole, which will help reduce the gap between the demand for skills from companies and the preparation of candidates.
Rome and Lazio at the centre of the European Agenda
Biazzo declared that Rome and Lazio must become protagonists at European level, focusing on strategic investments and a long-term development vision. A crucial aspect will be the relaunch of Rome as an international capital, capable of attracting not only tourists but also talent and capital. Lazio, thanks to its industrial skills and strategic geographical position, can become a key player in the Mediterranean area and in Europe.
