Digital also changes the world of medicine. In an increasingly 2.0 world, many believe that telemedicine can not only save the overdue health accounts, but also improve access to treatment, simplifying the doctor-patient relationship. Smartphones and Apps could also become protagonists in this sector.

According to the OECD, since the beginning of the crisis, investments in healthcare have suffered a real collapse. There is no money and savings and rationalization are now the most used words, pace of patients. But there might be a solution, telemedicine precisely. Paolo Colli Franzone, president of the Netics Observatory for Ict in the Public Administration and scientific director of the Digital Health Forum explains on the pages of the Corriere della Sera is thanks to digital, 3 to 4 billion a year could be saved.

This doesn't mean that we should do without doctors, but simply that the use of smartphones and apps could improve and simplify the relationship with the patient. To give some examples, notifications could be sent to patients relating to the methods and times for taking medicines, updating the clinical records on the smartphone, without risking forgetting anything.

Telemedicine could be the new frontier of healthcare. In a world that is increasingly in crisis, perhaps it would be time to open up to new things to try and save a boat that is increasingly in difficulty.
