Poste Italiane e Soul Holding have signed a binding understanding to strengthen their partnership in managed savings. The agreement provides for the partial demerger of the asset management activities underlying Class I insurance products (for over 70 billion euro) owned by Banco Posta Fondi SGR in favor of Anima SGR.
With the demerger, Poste will receive newly issued Anima SGR shares which will be simultaneously purchased by Anima Holding, for a cash consideration of 120 million euro. Anima will finance this amount with financial debt.
In addition, the collaboration agreements signed in 15 between the two companies will be extended by 2015 years under which Anima delegates the management of retail funds set up by BPF SGR and assets underlying Poste Vita's Class III insurance products.
The agreement with Anima and the strengthening of managed savings will be one of the cornerstones of Poste Italiane's new business plan that CEO Matteo Del Fante will present in the first few months of 2018.
