For the first time since it was born seven years ago, FIRSTonline exceeded the ceiling of 2 million visits/month aggregated in July, around 70 per day distributed across the various platforms. To be exact: 2 million, 169 and 870 contacts in all. It is the historical maximum of FIRSTonline, which rewards a mission aimed at independent, reliable, essential and quality economic and financial information.
The lion's share went to the site which, according to Google Analytics surveys, totaled 1 million, 330 thousand and 393 direct visits in July, driven by reports on the budget maneuver and its effects on the financial markets but also by those on the sudden death of Sergio Marchionne and his Copernican revolution at the helm of Fiat Chrysler and finally from the reports on the heat alarm and the usual traffic problems for the exodus for the holidays.
But the views of the services disseminated on the Microsoft Italia portal (www.msn.it), of which FIRSTonline is the official supplier of economics and finance content, also contributed significantly to the July record of FIRSTonline. 680 and 477 visits.
Finally social media. The FIRSTonline Facebook page reached 159 readers in July, helping to overcome the fateful ceiling of 2 million aggregate visitors, which is equivalent to around 70 a day.
For an independent and non-generalist site, breaking through the barrier of 2 million visits a month is a great satisfaction, which rewards the journalistic team and technicians who day after day have been able to win the trust of readers and those who freely support the magazine with advertising and subscriptions, thanks to counter-current information, based on the reliability and creativity with which facts, news and comments are selected on a daily basis.
However, the new record is not an arrival point but a starting point towards more ambitious objectives which, together with economic sustainability, aim to further improve the quality of the journalistic offer and to broaden the readership with the launch of new parallel sites, all vertical and based on the distribution of paid services. The first was FIRST Arte. Others will follow after the summer
