Environmental art as an artistic movement, a book by Giuliano Gori

The presentation, enriched by a guided tour to the park's installations, is part of the program of Living with Carrara Festival, which from 9 to 12 September 2021 hosts in the city of marbles a rich schedule coordinated by Telmo Piovani and dedicated to the theme of care.

The presentation comes almost twenty years after being placed in the park of eight environmental sculpturesrealized by Luigi Mainolfi, Robert Morris, Claudio Parmiggiani, Dani Karavan, Sol LeWitt, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Mario Merz, Anne & Patrick Poirier, on the occasion of the XI edition of the Carrara International Sculpture Biennial in 2002, which with the restructuring of Villa Fabbricotti and the birth of Carmi Museum - Carrara Michelangelo in 2018 he concludes a journey that began in the early XNUMXs.

"Environmental art is not an artistic movement, it was born out of my preference for choosing artists who work starting from the place, take possession of it and build their own project by becoming part of it or in any case making the relationship alive. – says the curator Giuliano Gori in its catalog text – In this way the seven works created for Carrara will forever have the memory of the Padula Park, its trees and its original design".

Along with the presentation within the program of Living with Carrara Festival are present three other appointments organized by the Municipality of Carrara:
