Apple, the war on Samsung continues: Cupertino is asking for another 700 million dollars in damages

Apple is seeking more than $700 million in additional damages and interest as arch-rival Samsung demands a new trial following a verdict awarding the US tech giant $10,049 billion in settlements. In a sensational court victory, a California jury ordered the Korean consumer electronics group to pay Apple $707 billion for illegally copying iPhone and iPad features for its flagship Galaxy S smartphones. However, in a document sent to the court on Friday, Apple is requesting an amendment of the verdict and an award of an additional $XNUMX million in compensation because the amount decided by the jury would not adequately cover the damages caused by Samsung's actions.

For its part, the South Korean group stressed that the limited time of the trial, unusual for such a serious case, prevented Samsung from adequately presenting its version of the facts in response to Apple's multiple allegations. The South Korean group therefore calls for a new and fairer trial. Apple and Samsung are at loggerheads over dozens of patent infringement cases in ten different countries.
