National Edge Cloud and Secure Artificial Intelligence: Fibercop and Microsoft Italy Partner

The agreement reached by the Italian company FiberCop with Microsoft Italy is very important and strategic, with the aim of develop a national edge cloud system which will provide digital services by bringing computing and data storage resources closer to where they are used, at the "edge" of the network. The two companies announced this in a statement. The network and edge infrastructure of FiberCop, the company that manages the telephone network spun off from Tim, will therefore be integrated with Microsoft Azure Local to offer businesses and public administrations cloud services and also, equally relevant in these times of great movements in AI, innovative and secure Artificial Intelligence, low latency and in full respect of data sovereignty.

The collaboration will leverage FiberCop's widespread presence in Italy, with approximately 27 million kilometers of optical fiber laid and 10.500 exchanges, creating a distributed architecture capable of supporting real-time data analysis and Internet of Things applications for client companies nationwide.
