UBI Banca: employee solidarity days

Approximately 2.000 UBI Banca employees took part in the 2018 edition of "A gift of a day", a solidarity project promoted by the bank which allows staff to engage in voluntary work.

The initiative was promoted in 2014 after a test that involved the Milan area. Since 2015, it has been extended to the whole national territory, totaling 5.000 days of volunteer work provided over the five-year period and corresponding to 40.000 hours of work carried out in the over 100 non-profit organizations that have joined the programme.

By participating, each employee donated their own day of vacation, spending it with an association and engaging in one of the 170 voluntary activities proposed. Depending on the number of participants, the sum that the UBI Banca Group will award to the various non-profit organizations for 2018 is a total of €117.100 (equal to €100 for each day of volunteer work provided).

"The culture of solidarity that is so widespread among our employees and is a distinctive feature of the civil society of our territories" - says Mario Napoli, human resources manager of UBI Banca - "is at the basis of the success of the initiative 'A day in Dono', which has been going on for some years now and which unites this trait of UBI people with the constant action of non-profit organizations, very often also our partners in projects with a social value, and with the action of our institute itself. In fact, UBI Banca – concludes Naples – has among its characteristics the ability to interact in a creative and innovative way also with non-profit organizations, organizations of now recognized social and economic importance in our country”.
