Tesla, sales boom in 2021: +87%

in 2021 Tesla has delivered nearly one million cars: 87% more than in 2020. This was communicated by the electric car company, specifying that the result was achieved thanks to a particularly positive fourth quarter.

In detail, last year deliveries reached their peak 936 thousand (911.209 between Model 3 sedans and Model Y SUVs), almost double the 500 recorded in the same period last year.

Tesla also announced that the delivery data of thelast quarter (308.600 cars), are slightly conservative and could be slightly higher, according to final profit calculations in the latest quarter.

A Wall StreetAnalysts had forecast average shipments of about 266.000 vehicles in the fourth quarter.

Spikes in production and deliveries add value in light of chip shortages and supply chain issues automakers have grappled with in 2021.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Tesla was able to react more flexibly than its competitors to the lack of chips thanks to its own software development.
