Sanremo, but is it really the austerity edition?

The one that takes place tonight from the Ariston Theater should be one of the most minimal editions in the history of the Festival, but will it really be like this? It is said that it will cost 18-19 million, slightly less than in 2012 and even more than in 2011 - The conductor Fazio will receive 600 thousand euros - In the Events box, a testimony by Valerio Sanzotta on his debut in 2008

Sanremo, but is it really the austerity edition?

In times of crisis and austerity, the one taking place tonight should be one of the most minimal editions of the Festival of Sanremo. But how much (us) will it cost, in any case? In reality not even much less, for example, compared to the 2011 edition, which saw the participation of personalities such as Roberto Benigni, Monica Bellucci and Robert De Niro, as well as the Canalis-Rodriguez valley girls and the conductor Gianni Morandi, who received more than all: 800 thousand euros. Total of the bandwagon: 18 million euros.

More or less the same, if not even less, than those earmarked for this edition, presented as that of the great downsizing but which in reality will cost between 18 and 19 million, just a million less than that of 2012, which saw field more or less the same team as the year before and guests of the caliber of Adriano Celentano and Lucio Dalla (in his last television appearance before his death).

In spite of the spending review, by virtue of which there was initially talk of contained fees of around 50 thousand euros, all these cuts have not actually taken place: starting with the host, Fabio Fazio, who according to what has emerged so far from Rai will take it is true “only” 600 euros (200 less than their predecessors), to which, however, must be added the two million a year that the anchorman of “Che tempo che fa” already receives from his contract with the public company. And her friend and co-host Luciana Littizzetto? Often a champion (like many others...) of the battles against public salaries, she too will receive the beauty of 350 thousand euros for the Ligurian trip.

There will be some cuts on guests' cachets, therefore. In reality, from the rumors it would not even seem too much, and in any case it is not known, given that contrary to what is invoked by many, the fees have not been disclosed. However, the main guests will be Maurizio Crozza, the musicians Piovani and Barenboim and the former soccer champion Roberto Baggio, who has just resigned from the Football Federation. For the two valleys instead, Bar Rafaeli and Bianca Balti, there is talk of a cachet of one million euros for both, much higher for example than that of the Canalis-Rodriguez couple.

According to the forecasts, however, part of the costs (of which only 7 million are for the agreement with the Municipality of Sanremo) will be compensated by advertising revenues (about 16 million), while the remaining 2-3 million euros should be covered by the fee Rai.
