Salini Impregilo, new US order: a 153 million tunnel

Salini Impregilo has signed a contract in the United States worth 153 million dollars, equal to 123 million euros. The company communicated this in a note, specifying that the contract concerns the construction of the “Dugway Storage Tunnel” in Cleveland, a structure 4,5 kilometers long and eight meters in diameter.

The contract also envisages the construction of other works: six wells of varying diameters and depths, connections between tunnels and wells and a series of concrete structures for the collection and conveyance of waste and rainwater.

The project is part of a larger program aimed at collecting, conserving and treating water to reduce the level of environmental pollution of Lake Erie.

To date, the Italian group is active in the USA with five projects, including the Lake Mead Hydraulic Tunnel in Las Vegas, the San Francisco subway and the new "Gerald Desmond" bridge in Long Beach, California.
