“Città di Castello” Literary Award for fiction, poetry and non-fiction

The “Città di Castello” Literary Award is an annual event reserved for writers of all ages, which aims to promote and encourage the passion for writing and reading among citizens of all social and cultural backgrounds. A project of the highest profile and undoubtedly international in scope, so much so that over the years it has become one of the reference literary competitions in the cultural panorama of our country, in which hundreds of writers from every Italian region and even abroad participate.

Since the first edition in 2007, the "Città di Castello" Literary Award has laid its foundations on a highly qualified and professional jury, which has always been chaired by Alessandro Quasimodo, literary critic, actor and theater director.

The Prize is reserved for unpublished works, which must be unpublished both at the time of registration (by 30 June 2021) and at the time of the final award ceremony (30 October 2021), and is divided into three sections: Fiction, Poetry and Non-Fiction. In addition to the three main sections, the Award includes two special sections: "Worlds and Cultures on the shores of the Mediterranean", in favor of knowledge and interaction between Italian culture and Arab culture and "Let's take back the future", dedicated to students of Higher Institutes.

The technical jury appointed and coordinated by the Associazione Culturale Tracciati Virtuali, in agreement with the President of the Jury, will select 20 works from all the works received for each of the three main sections: of these, only 10, at the sole discretion of the same, will be admitted to the final stage. The winning volumes will be published and marketed under the brand name of the LuoghInteriori publishing house. CULTURAL ASSOCIATION VIRTUAL TRACKS

Tracciati Virtuali, established in January 2012 and based in Città di Castello, is an apolitical, non-partisan, non-denominational cultural association, aimed at all people without distinction. As an expression of participation, solidarity, social responsibility, partnership and pluralism in society, the Association usually requires the direct participation or collaboration of bodies, institutes and other associations in the initiatives it undertakes, even in the form of an agreement.

It also intends to enhance the existing resources in the area and promote new ones, as well as plan events not only in the Umbrian territory but also in other Italian or European locations simultaneously or in an itinerant form. The main priorities include the implementation of the principle of equal opportunities and equity in the social fabric, as well as encouraging the active participation of categories defined as "protected" (children, young people, the elderly, women, foreign citizens residing in Italy, disadvantaged people in reasons of physical, mental, economic or social conditions) reserving them an appropriate space in every activity.

BIOGRAPHY OF ANTONIO VELLA

Antonio Vella founded the publishing house in 1991 together with his father Bruno Edimond, which in the space of a few years becomes the most important publishing reality in Umbria and whose catalog is appreciated throughout Italy both for the large cultural projects it offers and for the high graphic and typographic quality of the publications. In 2007, in parallel with his publishing activity, Antonio Vella created the "Città di Castello" Literary Prize, of which he is still an indefatigable promoter and which in 2021 will see the XV edition take place. In 2013, after the corporate split of Edimond, Antonio Vella laid the foundations for a new and fascinating editorial experience, the one that today bears the name of Inner Places, which in just eight years of activity has structured a catalog of over 250 publications divided into interesting and original series. Together with Ambassador Claudio Pacifico, president of the publishing house, important projects and co-editions were launched with historic cultural institutions of our country.
