Bridge over the strait, Renzi to Salini Impregilo: "We are here"

Sul Bridge over the Strait of Messina “We are ready: we are here”. The prime minister said, Matteo Renzi, speaking at the celebration for the 110th anniversary of Salini Impregilo at the Milan Triennale. "We must complete the connection between Naples and Palermo - underlined the Premier -, remove Calabria from isolation and make Sicily closer by creating one hundred thousand jobs".

For this "I dare you”, added Renzi addressing Pietro Salini, managing director of the group: “If you are in a position to carry the cards and unblocking what has been standing still for ten years, we are here".

Still on the subject of construction, Renzi made it known that "tonight in the Council of Ministers" we will discuss "school building” and specified that all the resources destined for this purpose will remain outside the calculation for the Stability Pact.

“We have been coming for seven years with three earthquakes – said the Premier again -. It is quite obvious that we cannot tell families who suffer from day-to-day worries that we cannot intervene in schools because stability is lacking. The stability of our children is worth more than the stability of European bureaucracies”.

The Prime Minister then confirmed that “they will be extended incentives for those who want to make renovations, even in condominiums, with the bonus at 65 percent” and that the Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway it will be viable without any construction site on 22 December.

The prime minister then met a representation of Salini Impregilo workers. Many entrepreneurs and managers were also present at the Milanese event, including Urbano Cairo, Claudio Costamagna, Mauro Moretti, Vittorio Grilli, Luisa Todini, Federico Ghizzoni, Diego Della Valle, Gaetano Micciché, Giovanni Malagò, Luigi Abete, Giorgio Squinzi and Giuseppe Castagna .

In the frame of the Triennale, Salini Impregilo celebrates its 110th anniversary with a celebratory event and the launch of a series of initiatives. The history of the group is told in various ways: a video documentary by the journalist Giovanni Minoli (among the works mentioned are the new Panama Canal, the Cityringen metro in Copenhagen, the Lake Mead hydraulic tunnel, the Athens Cultural Center and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam), a book presented by the economist Andrea Goldstein and the journalist Stefano Cingolani, a stamp and an immersive multimedia exhibition, which, until the month of November, will retrace the works carried out with unpublished contents, launching a look at the scenarios future. The book "110 years of future", produced by Rizzoli, traces the most significant projects of Salini Impregilo, through the history of Italy, the country where the Group was born, and of the 5 continents where the company developed.

“Infrastructures look to the future. We need to plan for them – he commented Pietro Salini, CEO of the Salini Impregilo group – many countries make plans for 2030, 2050. I would like a long-term plan for infrastructure to exist in a country like ours”. The manager spoke of "two thousand completed projects" in the course of a story that "does not end", given that today there are "another 120 projects in progress".
