Permira, P7 fund: maxi collection of 11 billion

Permira, a global private equity company founded in 1985 and which manages total capital of approximately 44 billion euros, announced that it closed its buyout fund Permira VII, also known as P7, at 11 billion euros, the maximum limit set for funding.

P7 will follow Permira's long-term investment strategy, which is based on theinvestment in leading companies in market segments that benefit from stable growth rates over time. The fund will therefore continue to operate in all of Permira's key sectors: technology, consumer, financial services, healthcare, industrial technology and services.

The fundraising was supported substantially by investors already existing in other Permira funds and also raised resources from numerous new investors in different geographies.

“We are very satisfied – he commented Tom Lister, co-managing partner of Permira – to have achieved such an important funding target and we are particularly happy to welcome new investors from different geographical areas”.

“The opportunities identified by our industry teams and offices around the world,” he added Kurt Björklund, co-managing partner of Permira – are very encouraging. We are confident that we can build on our successful track record, without neglecting the principle of rigour, which is more fundamental than ever in such a challenging environment for investments".

P7 fundraising started in January 2019 and the fund already has two new investments in the pipeline. Earlier this year Permira has closed raising his Growth Opportunities fund at $1,7 billion, dedicated to minority investments in fast-growing companies, typically in the technology sector.
