Here we are. The rItalian researchers they will play their part in the European night of research. In the Rome headquarters ofItalian Space Agency there are no more free seats today to attend the performances of the space. Astronauts, interactive laboratories, telescopes will be available to observe the sky or try to fly with simulators. It starts at 18pm and ends at midnight with an evocative program for both adults and children.
Researchers from the Italian Space Agency, involved in large launch and exploration projects, will be tutors for the lucky ones who managed to gain entry. Some Asi staff members as musicians will also hold a live music event.
The Researchers' Night
Researchers' Night is an initiative promoted by the European Commission since 2005 and every year it involves thousands of researchers, institutions and bodies in all European countries.
Interest in science has grown in recent years not only thanks to these popular initiatives but because the relationships between space, atmosphere and environmental and climate crises are increasingly evident. Curiosity has brought many young people closer to the ASI structures present in the area. “We want to create meeting opportunities for spread scientific culture and knowledge of research professions in an informal and stimulating context”, says the ASI.
Enea also in Lampedusa
Enea also organized six stages from Bologna to Rome, from Portici to Lampedusa, from La Spezia to Brindisi up to Saturday September 30.
Interesting this afternoon at 19pm the live connection from Rome with the Italian-French base “Concordia” in Antarctica. TO Bologna the “Society Ripensaci” project is presented; in the center of arcade, a few steps from Naples, afternoon and evening for young people. The children will attend demonstrations, guided tours, escape room and shows. TO Lampedusa experiments in the marine reserve, in the depths of that Mediterranean taken as a symbol that unites.
On the importance of research in Italy It was Enea himself who spoke a few days ago about the low investments that Italy makes compared to other European countries. Professional quality is constantly growing but public funding moves slowly compared to the goals we want to achieve in the environmental, energy and technological fields. It is illusory to think of competing with aggressive economies without robust, all-embracing scientific credibility. But a night dedicated to science still makes us dream.
