Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Anthropic have announced a series of strategic agreements that significantly strengthen the collaboration between the three companies in the field ofartificial intelligenceSpecifically, NVIDIA and Microsoft have announced direct investments in Anthropic of up to $10 billion and $5 billion, respectively, for a total of $15 billion to invest in the company founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees. These resources will be used to support infrastructure expansion and the development of new enterprise-level AI models.
The initiative provides a multi-level expansion: cloud infrastructure, integrated hardware-software design, model deployment, and joint investments. Anthropic has committed to purchasing $30 billion in computing capacity from Microsoft's Azure cloud service, with the option to further extend the contract up to 1 gigawatt of computing power. "We will increasingly become each other's customers: we will use Anthropic's models, they will use our infrastructure, and we will go to market together," Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in a video posted on social media.
Anthropic is thus preparing to scale its Claude models – including Sonnet 4.5, Opus 4.1, and Haiku 4.5 – using NVIDIA GPU-based infrastructure.
