Mediaset sells 25% of EiTowers for 284 million, the stock goes public

Mediobanca has completed the placement of the 25% stake in EiTowers, the company controlled by Mediaset through Elettronica Industriale which owns the TV towers. The Alfa communicates it in a note, specifying that the operation, carried out through an accelerated bookbuilding procedure, closed at a final price of 40,15 € (with a 5,8% discount on the closing price), for a total value of 283,7 million. With this sale, the Cologno Monzese group goes down to 40% of the subsidiary which holds the tv towers.

In the wake of this news, Mediaset's stock on the Stock Exchange opens, gaining 3,45%, 4,436 euros, with high volumes. This is the best increase in the entire Ftse Mib. 

The share of EiTowers it ended up in the hands of US, British and Italian institutional investors in a balanced way, says a financial source. The stock, which closed yesterday at 42,65 euros, dropped 9,50% at around 5,3 to 40,38 euros, approaching the placement price. Trading is already almost three times the average for an entire session.
