Maneuver, the Government advances towards trust

Quagliariello: "We will do everything to avoid it" - In words the majority as a whole is against - But in the opposition they are all convinced that it will eventually arrive: it would be the 45th since the beginning of the legislature (26 in the House and 18 in the Senate) - Meanwhile the amendments arrive and the secretary of the Cisl Bonanni speaks of a possible general mobilization.

Maneuver, the Government advances towards trust

More than a manoeuvre, it is a tailor's shop: a cut and sew that sees the Government and the majority armed with a needle, thread and scissors, with meetings that follow one another at a rapid pace since early morning. A maneuver that seems to be stitched up and stitched up from hour to hour, with government amendments which arrive with a dropper, while the criticisms and protests in the streets do not cease, so much so that after the CGIL, which has already planned the strike, even the leader of the CISL, Raffaele Bonanni, in the end is forced to say that if the maneuver is not satisfactory result will be a "general mobilization".

The pace of these hours is frenetic: Tremonti and Calderoli first meet with the President of the Senate, and then in the afternoon they lock themselves in the room of the rapporteur Azzollini, with Undersecretary Casero also present. And in the commission Azzollini is grappling with those who would like to present other corrections or add other measures: "Oh no, this is the time to eliminate the amendments, not to add them", he lets himself go as he leaves the room for a moment. And finally Minister Tremonti illustrates in the commission the long-awaited package of amendments from the Government: fight against tax evasion, proceeds from the Robin tax donated to local authorities, balances unchanged.

Meanwhile, the hypothesis of yet another recourse by the government to trust on the whole of the maneuver is making its way, as it will be modified by the amendments or by the maxi-amendment. In words, the majority seems to exclude this eventuality, but it is no coincidence that the vice president of the PDL senators, Gaetano Quagliarello, speaking on the radio broadcast "Baobab", says: "We will do everything to avoid trust". At a time like this, he adds, "we need maximum responsibility on everyone's part".

But the Pd group leader in the Budget Committee, Vidmer Mercatali, says he is convinced that the Government will resort to trust, and his party colleague Giovanni Legnini shares the same opinion. And if in the end the Government really were to trust, we would be faced with the 45th total trust requested by the Executive on legislative provisions, having already reached 26 in the Chamber and 18 in the Senate.
