Matteo Renzi intervenes at leadership of the Democratic Party, starting from 17.30 (according to the official program released on the party website) and without debate. A quick session, in that immediately afterwards the premier will go to the Quirinale by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, to tender his formal resignation and therefore kick off, starting tomorrow and for the next few days, the traditional consultations with the Head of State, at the end of which a new Government will in some way take shape, of transition. In fact, before the political elections, a government will need to draft the new electoral law in the light of the pronouncement on the Italicum of the Constitutional Court on 24 January next.
Therefore, as the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella hopes, a government will be born that someone calls of purpose or some other of national responsibility and which must redo the electoral law for the Chamber and the Senate and manage the international appointments (G7 and G20) of the early 2017. Probably then elections will be held in late spring 2017, even if there are those (Grillo and Salvini) who would like to vote immediately and those (Bersani and Berlusconi) who would like to reach the natural deadline of 2018.
