Passing of the baton at the helm of the Young Entrepreneurs Group of the Turin Industrial Union which, during the Assembly held this afternoon at the headquarters in via Fanti, proceeded to renew its board of directors and define the new presidency.
At the top of the Turin entrepreneurs under 40 was elected Federico Sandrone, a thirty-seven-year-old engineer and co-founder and CEO of Coesa, a company specializing in energy transition projects. Committed to the activities of the city's Confindustria association, also in the role of coordinator of the Energy and Sustainable Mobility supply chain, Sandrone takes over from Barbara Graffino, who had been in office since spring 2023, also taking over from her by right on the board of directors of the Turin Industrial Union.
The appointment was made official at the opening of the public moment of the assembly meeting, which at the Congress Centre of the Turin Industrial Union proposed the event “Next level growth: businesses, innovation and development”, with which the Young Entrepreneurs Group wanted to focus attention on a crucial issue for growth and competitiveness: the ability of the local production system to attract and above all retain the best talents in the area. Confirming the importance of this challenge was the speech by Professor Maurice Of The Count, professor at Bocconi and expert in labor law, with an institutional and regulatory reading between flexibility and new protections, as well as the testimonies of Kurapati Shalini, founder of Clearbox AI, and Marco Boglione, president of BasicNet, called to outline trends, models and concrete solutions through the vision of the entrepreneur who deals with the topic on a daily basis.
At the end of the meeting, the floor was given to the new president Federico Sandrone who, in his inaugural speech and after the ritual thanks, outlined the themes that he intends to develop during his mandate: "The very topic that characterizes today's Assembly expresses the main purpose with which I assume the leadership of the Young Entrepreneurs Group of the Turin Industrial Union. Our companies need more than ever to be visionary, to imagine the future and have the ambition to be protagonists, but for this to happen it is essential to invest in the new generations, in talent, and together with my team we will work actively in this direction".
«The task of representing the young industrialists of Turin honours me greatly – continued Sandrone – but above all it gives me the responsibility to give back to the new generations what the Association has given me since, twelve years ago, I first approached this reality. I came here at the age of twenty-five and over time I have had the opportunity to shape my knowledge and my approach to business, also thanks to the closeness of the presidents who preceded me and the constant exchange with colleagues, with whom I have shared experiences that are fundamental for my training. I want to be able to do the same and therefore I aim to be able to involve many young people who are starting their own entrepreneurial experience, just as it was for me then".
On this occasion, the President also announced the team of the board of directors that will support him in this adventure: in the role of his deputies there are Chantal Gallina (Dott. Gallina srl), Roberto Gariano (Gestione Servizi Integrati – GSI srl), Francesco Masera (Il dolce Canavese di B. Milanesio) and Manuel Odasso (Rigeneration società benefit arl), while the other elected directors are Matilde Botto, Matteo Colombino, Filippo Comba, Giulio Destefanis, Gustavo Giovale, Giorgio Morelli, Lucia Morizio, Luca Proietti, Renato Rolle, Cristina Romero.
Federico Sandrone, 37 years old, is CEO and co-founder of Coesa, a Turin-based consultancy firm in the field of energy and sustainable solutions. After graduating in Energy and Nuclear Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin and a master's degree in management at the Bocconi School of Management, in 2012 he founded Coesa Energy together with his partner Dario Costanzo, with the aim of supporting institutions and companies in energy management, in the requalification of plants and in the adoption of low-consumption technologies. At the same time, he developed an interest in business association activities and approached the Unione Industriali Torino, where he joined the Young Entrepreneurs Group, covering roles of increasing responsibility over time. His expertise and passion for the issues of innovation and sustainability also led him to take on the role of coordinator of the Energy and Sustainable Mobility supply chain within the Turin Confindustria association, actively contributing to the dialogue between companies, institutions and territories for the promotion of more efficient and low environmental impact energy models.
