Centromarca: Francesco Mutti is the new president

Francesco Mutti, managing director of Mutti Spa, is the new president of Centromarca, the Italian brand industry association. Fifty years old, with a degree in Finance & Management from Cardiff University, Cavaliere del Lavoro, Mutti has been at the helm of the family business since 1994 (278 million euros in turnover in 2017), a leading company in the Italian agri-food industry, present in 96 countries of the world and national leader in the processed tomato sector.

“Branded industry plays a fundamental role in the economic system in terms of investments, employment and allied industries – the new president immediately underlined – It combines development and sustainability, ethics and the market, work and personal needs, local presence and requests from populations. It represents an element of reassurance and balance for public opinion, a generator of value and opportunities. My commitment will be to contribute to the consolidation of this role, promoting the Brand System and the values on which its reputation is based. I consider it important to promote transparent and result-oriented relationships with all our stakeholders, starting with modern distribution companies with which we share various priorities, including a return to economic growth and the relaunch of internal demand".

During his mandate, Mutti will have the support of a Presidential Committee made up of five vice presidents: Alessandro d'Este (President and CEO of Ferrero Commerciale), Francesco Del Porto (President of the Italy Barilla region), Flavio Ferretti (President and CEO of Nims/Lavazza Group), Mario Preve (president of Riso Gallo), Leo Wencel (president and managing director of Nestlé Italiana).
