It has been signed the union agreement for the transfer of 624 branches and 5.107 workers from the Ubi-Intesa group to Bper. The sale of the business branch was the condition set by the Antitrust to give the green light to Intesa Sanpaolo's takeover bid on the Bergamo bank. The agreement was announced by First Cisl, which signed the document together with the other credit unions. In the note, it is specified that "all the economic treatments" of the workers involved in the operation are "safeguarded".
In reality, the agreement concerns the transfers of two distinct company branches: 587 operating points and 4.727 employees of the Ubi network, plus 37 branches and 295 workers of Intesa Sanpaolo, as well as 85 resources of Ubis.
The unions are satisfied.
"The agreement is unprecedented: it has a sectoral nature and systemic effects, it secures individual and collective rights for the stability of the sector - comments the national secretary of First Cisl, Domenico Iodice - The strong cohesion of the unitary table is a good omen in sight of the next steps: the incorporation of Ubi into Isp and the contractual harmonizations both in Isp and in Bper”.
Giuseppe Bilanzuoli, Massimiliano Pagani and Mariangela Verga, national secretaries of Uilca, write in a joint note that this is an agreement of "great value" for the whole sector, because "ample guarantees have been given in terms of employment protection, guaranteeing the full employment of all personnel, also excluding any outsourcing and territorial mobility and guaranteeing the maintenance of the workforce with recruitments, to an extent of not less than 50%, to replace the personnel transferred who will go into redundancy, as a result of the agreement signed in the Intesa on September 29, 2020”.
Even the national secretary of Fabi, Giuseppe Milazzo, says he is satisfied with the agreement, which he defines as "an excellent tool for protecting workers in the economic and regulatory aspects acquired over time". For Mattia Pari, also Fabi's national secretary, "this is an inclusive agreement, which provides concrete answers to everyone: to the workers who will join Bper, to the colleagues who will be involved in the IT integration process that will develop in the coming months and also to the younger people with permanent jobs".
