Asian stock markets still weak, the dollar rises

The MSCI Asia Pacific regional index was down 0,3% at the end of the day, after Wall Street closed with losses, where the S&P 500, however, remained above the 2000 level. This is the fourth day of declines for Asian markets and the index is at its lowest level since August 14. However, analysts view the market situation as consolidating after the recent rallies.

But the protagonist of the day is the dollar, which gained against the euro (1,287) and against the yen, passing 106 (106,3); the Tokyo stock exchange responded positively, reflecting the higher earnings of export industries (this morning, however, the Japanese service sector index recorded zero growth on the previous month in July).

Gold has also been at the expense of the dollar's attraction, which is at 1255 $/ounce, after dropping yesterday to 1251 at the end of the day. Even oil remains weak, and scores 92,9 $/b for the WTI (Brent: 100,1).
