Botteghe Digitali arrives at Maker Faire Rome 2016. The web reality on the digitization of Italian craftsmanship – which will end on Monday 10 October with the fifth and final episode dedicated to Lyno's&Co. – ends his journey in Rome, on the occasion of Maker Faire Rome 4.0, the European edition of the largest global event dedicated to innovation, technology and the maker movement.

The last STAGE of the journey: a new departure.

Maker Faire represents the culmination of a journey, that of Botteghe Digitali, which started in October 2015 from Maker Faire Rome 2015, with the call launched to search for the artisans who would form the core of the team. A year later Botteghe Digitali has become a format for YouTube, the first web reality show that talks about the future of Italian craftsmanship (every Monday on the Botteghe Digitali Youtube channel for five weeks) in which the four protagonists talk about the results of their journey and the goals they have set themselves for the post-Botteghe Digitali period.

The SPACES of making: the stand at Maker Faire.

At Maker Faire Rome Banca IFIS Impresa (the brand dedicated to the financial support of SMEs and the business world) and Botteghe Digitali will have a space of 100 square meters (Hall 8 – Fabrication) in which each craftsman, in a corner dedicated to him, he will interact with the public to tell the journey made in the last 12 months through his own know-how in a digital key. Inside the stand there will be interactive consoles that will allow visitors to actively take part in the work of the craftsmen.

The conception and study of the 'installations' was done by four students of the Iuav Master in Digital Architecture (Ileana Arnaudo, Valeria Polato, Giada Filippetti and Jacopo Spinelli) coordinated by Fabio D'Agnano, professor at Iuav and specialist in product and digitization of processes, who works as a consultant for various institutions, including the Milan Triennale and the North East Foundation.

The production was then entrusted to the Fab Lab Opendot team, a fablab that proposes itself as a meeting place and "doing" in the heart of Milan, a planning and production space where design, digital technologies and craftsmanship merge.

Software and Lasercut – McNeel Europe supplied the software used, while the lasercuts on the stand are a tribute from Robotics 3D. The Human Solutions Group has supplied its digital measurement software for Sartoria Concolato, confirming its intention to also enter the world of small and medium-sized fashion companies.
